Privacy Policy

CaptainOS ("CaptainOS," "we," "us") builds tools for charter fishing guides. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to run the service.

Information we collect

Depending on which features you use, we may collect:

• Account & setup information — your name, business name, email, phone/SMS number, and area code, provided when you set up Dock Desk.
• Calendar data — if you connect Google Calendar, we access availability to check open dates and create booking events. We request read access to free/busy times and write access only to create bookings. We do not sell or share this data.
• Call & booking data — when Marina answers calls, we process the caller's name, phone number, and trip details to complete a booking and send you an SMS recap.
• Bite Logger data — catch and condition logs you record. This is stored to power your private fishing database.
• Payment information — payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details; Stripe handles them under its own privacy policy.
• Usage data — basic technical information such as device type and pages visited, used to keep the service reliable.

How we use your information

• To provide and operate CaptainOS, including answering calls, checking your calendar, and booking trips.
• To send you SMS recaps and service-related messages.
• To process payments and manage your subscription.
• To improve reliability, security, and the features we offer.
• To respond to your support requests.

Google user data

CaptainOS's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google Calendar access solely to check your availability and create booking events on your behalf — never for advertising, and never shared with third parties except as needed to provide the service. You can revoke access at any time in your Google Account security settings.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate CaptainOS (for example, Stripe for payments, telephony and SMS providers, and Google for calendar access), and only as needed to deliver the service or when required by law.

Data retention & security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and we use reasonable safeguards to protect it. You can request deletion of your account data at any time by emailing us.

Your choices

• Revoke Google Calendar access in your Google Account at any time.
• Reply STOP to opt out of SMS recaps.
• Request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us.

Children

CaptainOS is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to anyone under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
